AMOCO Federal Credit Union Celebrated Their 79th Annual Meeting


TEXAS CITY, Texas – On Tuesday, February 21, 2017, AMOCO Federal Credit Union celebrated their 79th Annual Meeting at the Charles T. Doyle Center in Texas City.

Over 350 members gathered in the Texas Heroes Room at the Doyle Center for the traditional business meeting which included, light hors d’oeuvres, free gifts, and social networking.

To start the evening, members were welcomed by the sweet sounds provided by the Clear Brook High School Orchestra. After having a chance to enter a cash drawing, members took their seat as the business meeting began. President/CEO, Shawn Bailey, took the stage to announce standout individuals of 2016. The following awards were presented: 2016 Rookie of the Year – Roshonda Simmons; 2016 Employee of the Year – Jeff Jakes; 2016 Manager of the Year – Ann Ramos; 2016 Volunteer of the Year – Andre Parker; 2016 Select Employee Group – Standard Steel Supply; and the 2016 Member of the Year – Carl Gerjes.

Following the awards, Shawn briefly spoke about last years’ opportunities, growth, and improvements in the “State of the Credit Union Address” before announcing positions for the Board of Directors. Bob Steel took position #2, Roger McCrary took position #4, and Ruben Torres took position #6.

Mr. Bailey concluded the business meeting and AMOCO members were able to enjoy the rest of the night. Floral arrangements were provided by HEB, and table arrangements were made by Lili’s Balloons. Members socialized and indulged in food catered by Tastefully Yours Events & Catering.

Members left with a free pen, and a coin package with information about the new AMOCO location opening in Alvin. Cash drawing entries were selected the following business day, where sixteen lucky members won cash prizes that ranged from $75 to $450.
